Oloba met his untimely end in the Ijeja area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area, right in front of his house. The resurgence of cult-related violence is reminiscent of the challenges that plagued the state in 2023, with cultism being a significant menace, especially in areas like Sagamu and Abeokuta.<\/p>\n
The assailants carried out a well-planned operation, executing Oloba around 11:00 pm on Thursday, raising concerns among residents about the return of cult-related activities. In a separate incident, another suspected cultist, Tayo Alora, was also murdered in the Isabo area of the state capital on a Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
A resident, speaking anonymously, expressed concern, suggesting that the government and security agencies need to take swift action to prevent a recurrence of the violence that plagued the state in the past. Eyewitnesses, who fled when the assailants opened fire, noted that Oloba’s killers conducted the operation with precision.<\/p>\n
