In preparation for the re-run election scheduled for February 3 in Bauchi State, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has mobilized 65 personnel to maintain order during the electoral process. Patrick Ikaba, the State\u2019s Sector Commander, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Bauchi on Friday.<\/p>\n

The re-run election, prompted by the Appeal Court’s decision, is set to take place in 42 Polling Units across four State Assembly Constituencies, namely Bauchi Central, Zungur\/Galambi, Ningi 1, and Madara\/Chinade. To ensure a smooth and secure process, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also distributed sensitive materials and trained over 200 ad-hoc personnel for the exercise.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the FRSC’s role, Sector Commander Ikaba emphasized that the deployed personnel would collaborate with other security agencies to guarantee orderliness and a seamless conduct of the election. He stated, “They are also to make sure that no infiltrator or people with bad intentions gain access to the polling units.”<\/p>\n

The FRSC is actively working in conjunction with sister agencies to uphold the principles of a free, fair, and credible election while maintaining peace and order in the state.
