The family of Aondoove Gwaza, a director at the Federal Housing Authority Mortgage Bank in Abuja, is distraught after he was abducted from his home near a military base in Pwanbara, Bwari Area Council. The bandits, who attacked around 12:30 am on Thursday, shot indiscriminately, causing panic before fleeing through the bushes with the victim. Residents confirmed the proximity of the military base, known as ‘Camp,’ about 200 meters away. The area attacked includes both serving and retired military personnel and civilians. As of Thursday night, the kidnappers had not contacted Gwaza’s relatives.<\/p>\n
The attack in Pambara Extension occurred close to the military base at the entrance of Bwari, raising concerns about the boldness of the bandits in the face of military presence. A relative expressed worry about Gwaza’s safety, emphasizing that the kidnappers had not made any ransom demands.<\/p>\n
The surge in insecurity in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), especially kidnapping incidents, is causing growing concerns among residents and authorities. The FCT, once considered relatively secure, is now grappling with an increasing wave of criminal activities.<\/p>\n
