Following the decision of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT), Engineer David Umahi, Minister of Works, has made a public appeal to Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate Peter Obi, imploring him to accept the result and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.<\/p>\n

He stated this to journalists in Ebonyi State on Saturday. He claimed that Obi’s attempt to have Tinubu’s Supreme Court triumph overturned will still fall short.<\/p>\n

Umahi, who was in Abakaliki, as part of his ongoing inspection of federal roads in the South-east told journalists that God told him even before the February 25 election that Tinubu who contested on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC would win.<\/p>\n

The Minister said like the Biblical John the Baptist prepared the way for the coming of Jesus Christ, Peter Obi also prepared the way for the coming of Tinubu\u2019s presidency, ThisDay newspaper quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n

“Peter Obi has served the purpose of John the Baptist for the Divine President Bola Tinubu Ahmed, that\u2019s all that God brought him to do this time around.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I advise him not to go to any court of appeal. I am not a lawyer but the Governor of Ebonyi State is a lawyer and he has interpreted the judgment and it has left no hope for any appeal.<\/p>\n
