Akeredolu Resumes Duties After 3-Month Medical Leave in Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Idowu Patrick\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ondo State&#8217;s political landscape is witnessing a swirl of emotions as Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who had been on a three-month medical vacation in Germany, returns to his gubernatorial responsibilities on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Public and political interests have responded to the development in a variety of ways.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Akeredolu&#8217;s prolonged absence due to health reasons had kept the state on edge, with speculation and uncertainty prevailing regarding the nature and severity of his ailment. His return to the helm of affairs was met with mixed sentiments.<\/p>\n<p>The governor, on his return, was welcomed by his close aides at his residence in Ibadan, Oyo state.<\/p>\n<p>Supporters and loyalists of the governor, including the Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, expressed immense relief at his return, lauding his administration&#8217;s achievements and voicing their optimism for the future.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Akeredolu met with stakeholders from the state, including Olamide Oladiji, speaker of the assembly, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, deputy governor, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at his residence in Ibadan.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, Akeredolu handed over his resumption letter to Oladiji and provided a copy to Aiyedatiwa.<\/p>\n<p>The governor said by the grace of God, he will be \u201calive\u201d to complete his tenure, which ends in February 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI came back yesterday, and as you know, it was a long journey. I decided that I must meet with you today,\u201d the governor was quoted in a statement by Richard Olatunde, his media aide<\/p>\n<p>God has answered our prayers, and we give Him all the glory. I can assure you that our return is to the glory of God and the prayers of all of you here, and those who wished us well, I thank you very much.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGod has done what the majority of our people wanted. The majority of our people here knelt down and prayed for our return, and we have returned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, because we had to land here in Ibadan first, I said I have to meet with house of assembly members here.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are here, and we are back. I am back, and by the grace of God, I will be alive to complete my full tenure in office. I want to tell you that I am back, and I will resume work immediately.
