The man’s desperate act was spurred by the burden of a N2 million debt incurred when applying for a foreign visa, according to a suicide note he left behind.<\/p>\n
Saminu Abdullahi, the spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, confirmed the incident through an official statement. The Central Control Room of the fire service received an emergency call around 10:07 am from the Ministry of Works and Housing, Kano State, reporting the distressing incident at the State Road by Nasarawa Emir\u2019s house.<\/p>\n
Responding promptly, the fire service personnel on standby duty reached the scene by approximately 10:10 am. Upon arrival, they discovered Saifullah Rabiu in a critical condition, attempting to take his own life by hanging from a tree.<\/p>\n
In the suicide note, Rabiu disclosed the immense debt burden he was grappling with, revealing that he had already repaid about N500,000 of the borrowed sum. He expressed deep distress over the challenges and embarrassment he faced from the creditor, which led him to contemplate suicide.<\/p>\n
