The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) has rejected a copy of the European Union (EU) Election Observers Mission report on the 2023 presidential election, which Peter Obi and the Labour Party (LP) provided. The court argued that this record was taken from its own files and verified by its staff, who were not in charge of the report’s original custody.<\/p>\n

Recall that Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) earlier presented a physical copy of the EU report as part of their petition.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the court rejected 18,088 blurry result sheets provided by the petitioners because they couldn’t be linked to specific polling units as required. The court found that the petitioners had previously claimed they couldn’t identify the polling units due to the blurry result sheets, but one of their own witnesses had produced a report analyzing the same results, which they said were sourced from INEC’s results viewing platform.<\/p>\n
