The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and the Director-General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Abisoye Coker-Odusote, have jointly assured Nigerians in the Diaspora of a streamlined and stress-free process for obtaining their National Identity Number (NIN).<\/p>\n
In a statement by Gabriel Odu from NiDCOM’s media, publicity, and protocol unit, it was disclosed that the CEOs of both commissions met to strategize on the efficient delivery of NIN to the Diaspora. As part of the strategy, NIMC will establish a Diaspora Focal Point Desk to swiftly address issues within 24 hours.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the NIMC Director-General highlighted the upcoming launch of a self-service application in February, emphasizing that it would provide a contactless and seamless process. She expressed her commitment to forming a robust alliance with NiDCOM to enhance service delivery for Nigerians abroad.<\/p>\n
The NIMC CEO further outlined plans to set up a dedicated Diaspora Focal Point Desk within the NIMC office, emphasizing its ability to resolve issues promptly. She commended Dabiri-Erewa for her forward-thinking approach and her recognition of the vital role of the Diaspora Commission.<\/p>\n
