The sale of forms for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) commenced on Monday, and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for introducing a policy of free registration for individuals with disabilities.<\/p>\n
NANS President, Comrade Lucky Emonefe, expressed appreciation on Monday, noting that this initiative would inspire people with disabilities to pursue their academic aspirations without the burden of registration costs.<\/p>\n
“We sincerely want to acknowledge the magnanimous gesture of JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede. This unprecedented move in Nigerian education, especially by a government agency, is commendable. Even amid economic challenges, it signifies a positive step and deserves recognition,” said Emonefe.<\/p>\n
“Now, Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD) can benefit from this initiative without financial concerns. This progressive development should serve as an example for other stakeholders, considering the economic challenges faced globally. The positive changes in Nigeria’s education sector under the administration of President Bola Tinubu reflect the Renewed Hope promised, indicating further advancements for Nigerian students,” he added.<\/p>\n
