At the instance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media And Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, has disclosed that Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja to represent Nigeria at the 2024 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum scheduled to hold in Davos, Switzerland.<\/p>\n
The VP will join other political and\u00a0business leaders\u00a0across the world at the annual Forum to discuss\u00a0global\u00a0socio-economic and development issues.<\/p>\n
Top on Vice President Shettima’s agenda, apart from the plenary session, is the launch of the Private Sector Action Plan for African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA) at a special session to be co-chaired by him.<\/p>\n
He is also billed to hold high-level discussions with the Managing Director of IFC, Makhtar Diop and the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham\u00a0Minh\u00a0Chinh, among others.<\/p>\n
Also on the sidelines of the annual meeting, Sen. Shettima will chair a roundtable\u00a0dialogue\u00a0on Nigeria’s economic path. He will also\u00a0attend\u00a0a special session dedicated to\u00a0building trust\u00a0in the\u00a0global\u00a0energy transition programme.<\/p>\n
The Vice President is expected to return to Nigeria after participating in the week-long event.<\/p>\n
