Yesterday, Vice-President Kashim Shettima left Nigeria to attend the 2024 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, from January 15 to 19. The WEF is an international organization fostering public-private cooperation, bringing together prominent figures in politics, business, culture, and more to influence global, regional, and industry agendas.<\/p>\n
According to a statement from Stanley Nkwocha, the senior special assistant to the president on media and communications, Shettima will represent President Bola Tinubu at the forum. The Vice President’s agenda includes participation in plenary sessions, launching the Private Sector Action Plan for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA), and engaging in high-level discussions with global leaders such as Makhtar Diop and Pham Minh Chinh.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Shettima will chair a roundtable dialogue on Nigeria’s economic path and attend a special session focused on building trust in the global energy transition program.<\/p>\n
