The management of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, has refuted claims circulating on the internet and social media regarding the National Universities Commission (NUC) uncovering about 100 fake professors in Nigerian universities. In response to the widely covered news, the university released a press statement signed by Mrs. Lydia W. Legbo, the Deputy Director of Information, Publications, and Public Relations Unit.<\/p>\n
The statement, obtained by the Nigerian Tribune on Monday in Minna, the capital of Niger State, clarified that the nine individuals mentioned in the news report as fake professors at FUT, Minna, namely Nurudeen Adenuga, Fauziyyah Adeyemi, Halima Abubakar, Hamdat Olufemi, Hawa Alhassan, Idris Adigun, Jamilu Ahmad, A\u2019isha Bello, and Haroon Akande, are not affiliated with the institution in any capacity.<\/p>\n
“For the record, the management of FUT, Minna, wishes to inform the general public that the nine fake professors listed in the news report are not staff of the institution and have never had any dealings with the university at any point in time, in any capacity whatsoever,” the statement declared.<\/p>\n
The university management went on to emphasize that the mentioned individuals are not recognized by FUT, Minna, and warned that any person engaging with them, either individually or as a group, does so at their own risk.
