Abdullahi Sule of Nassarawa State has sworn in 16 commissioners recently screened and confirmed by the Nasarawa\u00a0 State House of Assembly<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692018754802\" dir=\"auto\">Sule, at the event on Monday\u00a0 in Lafia, urged the new commissioners to shun corrupt tendencies and key into his administration\u2019s vision of transparency, accountability and rule of law.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692018895607\" dir=\"auto\">He advised them to justify the confidence that the government reposed in them.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692018948133\" dir=\"auto\">\u201d I want to congratulate you on your well deserved appointments as we have made wide consultations in the selection of commissioners across the state<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\u201d I want to implore you to key into my administration\u2019s vision of transparency and accountability and you are to shun corrupt tendencies.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692018971950\" dir=\"auto\">\u201d I also urge you to be dedicated and hardworking\u00a0 as this administration cherishes hard work, commitment and loyalty,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692019001798\" dir=\"auto\">Sule further assured of his administration\u2019s continuous determination to develop good policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692019036575\" dir=\"auto\">The governor specifically commended the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Ibrahim\u00a0 Abdullahi and his members,for speedy screening and confirmation of the commissioners.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692019194011\" dir=\"auto\">Besides, the governor announced that the state government would distribute\u00a0 palliatives recently\u00a0 received from the Federal Government in order to alleviate the economic suffering occasioned by\u00a0 the subsidy removal of petroleum subsidy.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692019931558\" dir=\"auto\">Earlier, Muhammad Aliyu, the Secretary to the State Government had appreciated the governor\u00a0 for providing good governance and dividends of democracy to people of the state<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692020442098\" dir=\"auto\">The SSG noted that the new commissioners who were screened and confirmed by the assembly\u00a0 were also cleared by security agencies.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692020485789\" dir=\"auto\">\u201d Nasarawa State has never had it so good like now because of the governor\u2019s good policies and programmes, \u201d he said<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692020567113\" dir=\"auto\">The new commissioners are: Yakubu Kwanta\u00a0 (Environment and Natural Resources), Aishatu Rufai (Women Affairs), Umar Dan\u2019akano ( Agriculture), Munirat Abdullahi, (Finance) Timothy Kasuwa (Special Duties on Security and Public Matters).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Ja\u2019afaru Ango (Youth and Sports Development) , Margaret Elayo (Special Duties on Humanitarian Services and NGOs), Bala Muiki\u00a0 (Lands and Urban Development) and John Mamman(Education)<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692021256479\" dir=\"auto\">Others are: Abubakar\u00a0 Zanwa (Water Resources and Rural Development), Samuel Emgba (Science and Technology),\u00a0 Aliyu Tijjani ( Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs), Muhammed Iyimoga (Trade and Investment), Barr Labaran Magaji\u00a0 (Justice).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692021470681\" dir=\"auto\">Dr. Gaza Gwamna ( Health) and Mu\u2019azu Gosho (Works, Housing and Transport).<\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692021750150\" dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692021847506\" dir=\"auto\">The assembly had on Aug. 1 screened, confirmed and submitted 16 out of the 17\u00a0 nominees forwarded to it by the governor.<\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692022481020\" dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"yMail_cursorElementTracker_1692023173835\" dir=\"auto\">The speaker had confirmed that Haruna Musa, the 17th nominee was not available for the screening due to undisclosed health situation.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
