Trucks Transit Parks Limited (TTP) has called for the urgent deployment and implementation of Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID)\/E-tags and the Electronic Call-up Interchange Transaction Number (EITN) to address the resurgence of traffic on the Apapa and Tin-Can Island port access roads in Lagos, Nigeria. The proposal was made during a recent Stakeholders Engagement Forum at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) headquarters.<\/p>\n

TTP emphasized the need for E-tags, which are affixed to vehicle windshields, to provide a seamless and automated approach to access control. The integration of E-tag readers at entry and exit gates with the access barrier system enhances security and access control. This technology aims to streamline truck movements within Lagos ports, leading to benefits such as fast cargo evacuation, reduced human interaction, improved security, and cost-effectiveness.<\/p>\n

Jama Onwubuariri, the Managing Director and Co-founder of TTP, highlighted the pivotal role of deploying RFID\/E-tags and EITN in addressing the challenges faced in Lagos ports. TTP is committed to providing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce congestion, and create a seamless experience for stakeholders in the maritime sector.<\/p>\n

The recommendation also includes the implementation of EITN for Apapa and Tin Can Ports, serving as a key transaction and traffic cycle correlation measure. This measure aims to ensure high volumes of legitimate bookings, reduce illegitimate traffic, enhance transaction phase correlation, and provide better coordination of truck movements within ports, preventing criss-crossing between terminals and supporting integrated security check activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
