According to a statement released by Ebenezer Adeniyan, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the mourning period will commence on Thursday, December 28, and extend until Saturday, December 30, 2023. During this time, the citizens of Ondo State are encouraged to engage in fasting and prayer, reflecting a collective expression of grief and remembrance.<\/p>\n
In a gesture of solemnity, the government has also ordered that all national flags be flown at half-mast for a duration of seven days, symbolizing the state’s mourning atmosphere. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa further declared the suspension of state government ceremonies throughout the mourning period.<\/p>\n
