President Bola Tinubu has taken decisive steps to elevate the standards of the Nigerian Civil Aviation sector, approving the suspension, removal, and replacement of Chief Executive Officers within the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development. The move, effective immediately, reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to instilling world-class standards in consumer protection and promoting the well-being of Nigerian passengers and stakeholders in the aviation sector.<\/p>\n

In a statement by Presidential Spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, key leadership changes were outlined:<\/p>\n

  1. Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku replaces Mr. Kabir Yusuf Mohammed as the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).<\/li>\n
  2. Engr. Umar Ahmed Farouk takes over from Mr. Tayib Adetunji Odunowo as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).<\/li>\n
  3. Mr. Alex Badeh Jr. assumes the position of Director-General of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), replacing Engr. Akinola Olateru.<\/li>\n
  4. Prof. Charles Anosike replaces Prof. Mansur Bako Matazu as the Director-General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET).<\/li>\n
  5. Mr. Joseph Shaka Imalighwe steps in as the Acting Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), replacing Capt. Alkali Mahmud Modibbo.<\/li>\n
  6. Capt. Chris Najomo takes over as the Acting Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), following the suspension of Capt. Musa Shuaibu Nuhu to allow the EFCC to conduct an investigation into the activities of the suspended Director-General and other senior officials in the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    President Tinubu has also endorsed the initiation of a diligent process, led by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to recruit a substantive Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers for the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU).<\/p>\n

    The President urged the new leadership to prioritize the safety, convenience, and comfort of the Nigerian people in all administrative activities. Recognizing the high cost of underperformance in the sector, President Tinubu mandated the immediate establishment of world-class policy design, implementation, and regulatory frameworks to realign the sector with his Renewed Hope Agenda.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
