Speaking at the National Symposium in Abuja, he emphasized the significance of ensuring that the voices of the youth are heard.<\/p>\n<p>Represented by Dr. James Anenih, Director of Community Prevention and Care Services at NACA, Dr. Gambo highlighted the government&#8217;s ongoing efforts to develop initiatives empowering youths in the prevention and treatment of HIV\/AIDS. Dr. Anenih urged young individuals to actively participate in shaping the strategies, emphasizing the importance of tailoring interventions to meet their specific needs.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dr. Anenih, evidence compiled in the past year indicates a substantial portion of the population affected by HIV\/AIDS comprises adolescents and young people. He stressed the need to involve them in targeted services focused on prevention and treatment, addressing the urgency of the situation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Dr. Olawale Durisinmi, Country Lead of JSI Research and Training Incorporated, elaborated on the government&#8217;s strategy for adolescents and young people. He highlighted the emphasis on empowering them to mitigate behaviors that increase the risk of contracting HIV.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Dr. Durisinmi outlined the pivotal role of his organization in providing technical support to the government&#8217;s HIV prevention efforts. He emphasized the importance of designing interventions in a manner that directly benefits Nigerians.
