The training, themed &#8220;Enhancing Accountability, Transparency, and Curbing Corruption and Illicit Financial Flows in Africa,&#8221; marked a significant milestone as the first hybrid training for this cohort.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the special nature of the training, Ogunleye expressed his excitement, noting that participants would graduate and receive certificates at the end of the module, culminating a journey that began in March 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Ogunleye shared that positive feedback from participants highlighted the substantial benefits the training provided to their daily work, career advancement, and professional development. The Academy also received commendations from stakeholders regarding the impact of these trainings in their respective countries, leading to requests for country-specific and sub-national versions of the program from regional member countries.<\/p>\n<p>Encouraged by this feedback, Ogunleye emphasized the commitment to delivering 18 months of structured executive training. The training focused on deepening participants&#8217; understanding of accountability, transparency, anti-corruption measures, anti-money laundering\/counter-financing of terrorism, and curbing illicit financial flows and obligations to mitigate risks.<\/p>\n<p>The director outlined the training&#8217;s goals, expecting participants to enhance their capacity to design and implement robust institutional, policy, legal, and regulatory frameworks. The ultimate aim is to foster accountability, transparency, and the eradication of corruption and illicit financial flows in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting the competency-based nature of the program, Ogunleye mentioned that successful completion would lead to certification at the end of the 18-month training period.
