Bala Muhammad Inuwa, the ex-managing director of Kano State Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO), currently facing trial for an alleged N4 billion fraud, has filed a motion urging Justice Hafsat Yahaya Sani of the Kano State High Court to recuse herself from the case. Inuwa, through his lawyer Nasir Adamu Aliyu, SAN, expressed concerns about perceived unfair treatment during the proceedings, asserting doubts about receiving justice in her court.<\/p>\n

Both Inuwa and his son, Bala Inuwa Muhammad, Jr., have pleaded not guilty to the charges and have requested the case be reassigned to another judge at the Kano State High Court to ensure a fair hearing.<\/p>\n

Aliyu, counsel for the defendants, cited grounds for the application, including the court’s dismissal of their jurisdictional objection and the judge’s refusal to grant leave for appeal within the stipulated 14 days. He also highlighted the revocation of bail by Justice Naabba, leading to the defendants’ 30-day remand in a correctional center, which, according to Aliyu, raises concerns of potential bias.<\/p>\n

Arguing that the presiding judge has displayed a personal interest in the case, Aliyu contends that Justice Sani should recuse herself to uphold the principles of justice.<\/p>\n
