NMB Bank Plc has affirmed its commitment to offer comprehensive financing solutions to Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), seizing opportunities within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). Linda Teggisa, Head of Transaction Banking at NMB Bank, made this announcement during a panel discussion themed ‘Addressing the gender gap in trade financing’ held in Dar es Salaam, on the sidelines of the AfCFTA Conference on Women in Trade.<\/p>\n
Teggisa, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in structuring and executing trade finance solutions, outlined that the bank would extend financing in the form of working capital loans and asset finance loans. The objective is to empower businesses for growth and success within the dynamic African business landscape.<\/p>\n
She emphasized that NMB Bank, with its robust performance and strong balance sheet, is poised to provide financing to eligible MSMEs, aligning with its commitment to facilitate intra-trade on the African continent.<\/p>\n
“We have delivered very strong financials this year, elevating us to be the third most profitable bank in East Africa and the number one bank in terms of market capitalization. Our services cater to a cross-section of client segments, both retail and wholesale,” Teggisa stated.<\/p>\n
Addressing the theme ‘Women In Trade,’ Teggisa highlighted the significant role women play in MSMEs, emphasizing their need for support to establish and grow their businesses.
