The initiative, part of the Navy\u2019s end-of-year activities, garnered appreciation from over 1,000 community members who benefited from various healthcare services.<\/p>\n<p>The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, received special praise for extending support to Jakpa as the chosen community for the medical outreach. The event featured health talks, free medical consultations, distribution of free drugs, blood tests, eye tests, and the provision of eyeglasses and insecticide-treated mosquito nets.<\/p>\n<p>High Chief Armstrong Omoko, a community leader in Jakpa, expressed gratitude to the Navy, highlighting the positive relationship the community has maintained with the Nigerian Navy. He specifically thanked Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla for bringing the medical outreach to Jakpa.<\/p>\n<p>Hon. Peter Odiobara, the Supervisory Counsellor on Health representing the Chairman of Uvwie Local Government, applauded NNS Delta for extending its medical outreach to the community. He also commended the CNS for contributing to the sustainable peace in Delta State and the Niger Delta region.<\/p>\n<p>Commodore Chindo Yahaya, Commander of NNS Delta, emphasized that the medical outreach aligns with the CNS\u2019 mission to strengthen Navy-civil relations. Represented by Navy Captain Solomon Paul, the Executive Officer of NNS Delta, Commodore Yahaya highlighted the humanitarian nature of the free medical activities in Jakpa. He expressed the hope that the initiative would foster a strong bond between the community and the Nigerian Navy.<\/p>\n<p>As part of their end-of-year activities, NNS Delta also visited the Little Saints Orphanage on Bonkery Road, Effurum. The Navy donated various items to support the orphanage&#8217;s upkeep, earning appreciation from Hephzibah Ozegbe, the administrator of the home.
