Kwara State University (KWASU) has achieved a significant milestone as all 18 of its undergraduate and graduate programs offered in the October–November 2023 session have received full accreditation status from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
In a letter dated June 6, 2024, signed by the Acting Director of Accreditation, Engineer Abraham Chundusu, and addressed to Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, the university’s vice-chancellor, the NUC confirmed that six postgraduate and twelve undergraduate programs have been granted full accreditation for five years.
The fully accredited undergraduate programs include Public Health, Film Studies and Production, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Engineering, and Fine and Applied Arts. Additionally, Political Science, Chemistry, Plant and Environmental Biology, and Tourism and Hospitality Management have also been accredited.
For postgraduate studies, the accredited programs are Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Business Administration, Master of Science in Finance, Master of Science in Public Administration, and Master of Science in Accounting.
Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh expressed his satisfaction with the accreditation results, highlighting the dedication and hard work of both the administration and the faculty. He congratulated the faculty members involved in these programs and encouraged them to continue their commitment to excellence in educating the next generation of professionals.

The Vice-Chancellor also acknowledged the crucial support provided by the Ministry of Tertiary Education and the Kwara State Government throughout the accreditation process. “Their support was instrumental in achieving this milestone. We are grateful for their contributions and ongoing commitment to enhancing higher education in Kwara State,” he added.
