National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 36-year-old man transporting cocaine worth 1 billion naira concealed in yoghurt.
The suspect, identified as Nkem Timothy, was on his way back to Algeria where he resides when he was arrested around the Baggage area of the Ilela border while trying to cross to the Niger Republic.
The Sokoto Command of the NDLEA who made the arrest said "this is a groundbreaking fear for us in the command as a seizure of this magnitude of type 'A' drug has never been made in Sokoto before."
Similarly, the Adamawa State Command of the NDLEA arrested a man identified as Umar Mohammed with 82 blocks of compressed cannabis that weighs 70kg at the Lafiya Lamurde area of the state.
Brigadier-General Buba Marwa (retd.), the Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA commended the two commands, charging them to remain vigilant and ensure drug traffickers don't pass through their areas of responsibility.
